Picture in, prompt out. Drop, paste or upload any image and in a few seconds you get the prompt that recreates it, written in the syntax of the model you use: Midjourney, Nano Banana (Gemini), ChatGPT Images, Flux, Stable Diffusion or Ideogram.
- Open aistudio.google.com/apikey and sign in with any Google account.
- Click "Create API key" (accept the terms if asked). It is free; no card is needed.
- Copy the key (it starts with AIza) and paste it above. Tick "Remember on this device" so you only do this once.
Your key is sent only with your own requests and never stored on our server. Google's free limits apply to your key, not ours, so you can run as many as your key allows.
A worked example
Take a moody product photo: a glass bottle of cold brew on a wet black stone, lit from behind, with condensation on the glass and a dark green background.
Midjourney (Detailed):
Commercial product photograph of a clear glass cold brew coffee bottle standing on a wet black slate stone, beads of condensation on the glass, strong rim light from behind, deep forest-green seamless background, soft reflections on the stone, high contrast, crisp focus on the label area, minimalist premium beverage advertising, shot on 100mm macro lens –ar 4:5 –style raw –s 200
Nano Banana (Gemini):
Create a premium product photo of a clear glass bottle of cold brew coffee standing on a wet black slate stone. Light it from behind so the edges of the bottle glow, add fine condensation droplets on the glass, and use a dark forest-green background. Keep the composition minimal, sharp and high-contrast, like a magazine advertisement.
Same picture, two very different prompts: Midjourney likes comma-rich descriptions and parameters, while Gemini and ChatGPT follow full sentences. The tool writes each one the way that model reads best.
How to use it
- Add your image. Drag it in, paste it with Ctrl+V or click to choose a JPG, PNG or WebP. It is resized in your browser before it is sent, so even large photos work quickly.
- Choose the model. Pick the image generator you will use, or Universal for a prompt that works in most of them.
- Choose the detail. Detailed gives a full prompt for close recreations; Short gives a compact prompt for apps with a character limit.
- Optional: change something. Type a change such as “make it a winter scene” or “replace the bottle with a teapot” and the prompt is rewritten around it.
- Get the prompt, copy it into your image model, and adjust a word or two until the result is right.
Who it is for
- Creators and designers who saw a style they love and want to learn the words behind it: AI image generation prompts.
- Online sellers making product shots in a consistent style: prompts for e-commerce sellers.
- YouTubers building thumbnails and channel art: thumbnail and social visual prompts.
- Trend followers recreating a viral photo style with their own subject: viral AI photo trends.
What it does not do
- It does not generate the image. It writes the prompt; you run it in your model.
- It will not identify real people, and you should not use it to imitate a living artist’s signature work or someone else’s brand. Change the subject and make it yours.
- No prompt reproduces a photo pixel for pixel. Expect the same mood, composition and style, then refine.
- Text inside the image (signs, labels) is described but rarely spelled perfectly by image models; add it afterwards in an editor if it matters.
Privacy
Your image is resized in your browser and sent to Google Gemini for this one request. It is not saved on PromptifyLab. Don’t upload private photos or pictures you don’t have the right to use. If you add your own Gemini key, it travels only with your request and is never stored on our server.
Tools that go before and after
- Image Prompt Builder: write an image prompt from scratch in each model’s syntax, no picture needed.
- Video to Prompt: the same idea for video clips.
- Viral Video Prompt Builder: animate the scene as a short video.

Questions
Is Image to Prompt free?
Yes. You get several free AI runs a day without an account. For unlimited use, add your own free Gemini API key from Google AI Studio.
Which image generators does it write for?
Midjourney, Nano Banana (Gemini), ChatGPT Images, Flux, Stable Diffusion and Ideogram, plus a universal prompt for anything else.
Why does my result look different from the original?
Image models are creative and vary every run. Generate three or four versions, keep the closest, and add the one detail that is missing to the prompt.
Can I use the prompt commercially?
The prompt is yours to use. Whether the generated image can be used commercially depends on your image model’s terms, and on not copying someone else’s protected work or likeness.
Is my image stored?
No. It is sent to Google Gemini for this request only and is not saved on PromptifyLab.
